The little groove holds a card perfectly upright, no slipping even when I bump the desk. I've got one on my nightstand and one by the kitchen sink so I actually see them during the day. Beechwood feels warm instead of plasticky.
The beechwood has a nice weight to it, so it doesn't slide around when I move my affirmations in and out. I keep it on my nightstand and swap the card each morning — way better than having them taped to the mirror.
